All we can do is better.

I realized long ago I could not accept current models of theology as anything more than comforting stories and terrifying fables designed to elicit prescribed responses and subject members to "divine" rule. I also realized that "The Lord helps those who help themselves" is just a fancy way of saying "you're on your own".

That being said, no one should be alone in this struggle. This is why we serve and advocate for the secular community in particular, and the downtrodden in general. As a disabled veteran, I have been the helper and he helped. This is how we do better, for ourselves and each other. This is how we move forward.
